London-introduction

So since my last post from last year, I went on a tour of London. London was incredible, i can hardly describe in words how amazing and intriguing the city was. I've decided to divide each of my 7 day trip into one post because there is too much that happened on each day! So i will call this the intro?

Jesus Born on this Day!

It is very hard for me to believe that today, yes at 1:51 am it is Christmas!!! I just got finished with holiday concerts and Masses. I must say, this has been the best time I have ever had. Something just made my MYA concert, my Church concert, and the two masses that I did go wonderfully. I know that this Christmas is different for me because I think this year of all years, I have realized what Christmas is all about. Its not about the presents or the Santa, but it is about a little boy, born in a Manger because there was no room for him in the inn. This little boy would die for all of our sins and become all of ours Savior. I realized that this Christmas, not to let the stupid things get in my way. Presents etc. But to be thankful for what I have. A wonderful family and great friends. This year just a simple hug wasn't enough to show how much I appreciate every single person that I have been inspired by. I think me and P. are on 12? lol. I gone around hugging people that I normally wouldn't because they are just inspiring to me. Everyone in the Church choir and instrumentalist all inspire who I am... In the  end, this Christmas won't be forgotten, but will be remembered as the best!

Jesus! Born on this day, he is the light and salvation!
He is Light!
He is Love!
He is Grace!
Jesus Born on this day,
Today a child is born on earth
Today the glory of God shines everywhere
For all of the world
Oh Jesus born on this day
He is our light and salvation
Oh Jesus born on this day
He is the King of all nations!

Jesus! Born on this day, he is the light and salvation!
He is Light!
He is Love!
He is Grace!

Amen.

Awake to the Day

"Awake to the day of the coming of the lord. Sing out! Rejoice in this Land! Make straight the way for the kingdom of God is at Hand!!"
"Wrapped in the cloak of justice from God, gathered at the work at the holy one, every mountain and hill made low, that the glory of God we may know!"
"Awake to the day of the coming of the Lord. Sing out! Rejoice in this Land! Make straight for the kingdom of God is at Hand!!"

Decision...

Music to me is just more than notes on a piece of paper. When I started just to play the piano at the age of 5, I didn't really realize music in its entirety is an another world. Right now, I struggle with the decision of choosing what I want to do with my life in the world of music.

My first option would be to pursuit my voice. I was taking lessons until now. until i make my decision on what to pursuit. As a sophomore i have accomplished many goals with my voice. IMEA etc. I also sing a choir at MYA, i love this choir. It is a place for me to go sing and have fun. The people there are all nice to me and understand me more than any other people I sing with. They are just as devoted to music as I am. If I do choose to pursuit my voice, the only option for me to do with my voice would be to sing professionally or teach high school or middle school choirs. My director at MYA, Mr. K, has inspired me so much into the field of teaching, that I want to be like that and spread my knowledge to young musicians who are the future of the music world.

My other option would be following the footsteps of many great artist such as Charlie Parker, Cannonball, Aderly, and others such as Phil Woods. In the world of Jazz, I have learned to express myself on the Alto Sax extensively, to a point where I have reached a plateau. I have began studying with an excellent teacher, who is going to help me to put my foot in the right direction. I need to take a leap with this and take risks. Alto sax has been known to be the hardest instrument to conquer. Is this the right direction for me?

Overall I know what I want to do in my musical life. I know what ever I do, it will involve music. Over this break, I will try not to worry about it and let the answer come to me more naturally. I know what I want, but is it what is best for me?
